"Jody (Scott) was so courageous the way he goes for it. He was just bouncing off the fence, right, left and centre, when it began to get a bit greasy with the rain, while others were becoming more cautious. He was amazing and I felt a bit sorry for Ace (Pijper), because I gave Jody one of his rides. Ace has been fantastic and we wouldn't have got this far if it hadn't been for some of his performances this season." Redcar boss Gavin Parr pays tribute to his riders after a memorable night in the BSN Series Final at Poole.
TROUBLE AT THE TOP
"I know Tony Rickardsson has tried to talk to riders about trying to reduce costs and so on, but he says it's no use because he gets different answers depending on whom he asks. You can't ask the riders who are the most successful. They don't want to change anything just because they are leading. What the sport needs to think about is all the others. The cost and hassle of getting into speedway is far too much, it's too expensive." Outgoing Poland team manager Rafal Dobrucki makes some hard-hitting comments as he stands down.
PANTHERS PUSH ON
"I don't agree that speedway can’t return. The Agricultural Society has a piece of land it wants to generate revenue from and we were a part of that – and we can be a part of that again. We are ready, willing and able to do it. Obviously, it needs some work for us to get back there but we are ready to get on with that." Peterborough campaigner Brian Connolly on the latest planning boost to the club's revival hopes.
