RICHIE Worrall became Britain’s first World Under-21 Finalist since 2009 when he bagged sixth place in the semi at Terenzano, Italy, at the weekend. Now, British Under-21 team boss Phil Morris wants to see the nation, fittingly in one of the most patriotic of weeks, get behind the 20-year-old. Worrall now faces a marathon seven-round final with stop-offs at Lonigo, Lendava, Coventry, Tarnow and Pardubice before the daunting final two rounds at Argentine track Bahia Blanca in November. “I’d like to think we can do is get some extra bikes together and get him flown back every Sunday morning, so that he can get to Newcastle and fulfil his fixtures,” says Phil. “If we can get him in and out and he has the right set-up and people behind him, he can do it. If there is anyone out there who can help, whether it’s with money or product sponsorship, it would be great. I think the lad deserves it.” See this week’s edition for more about Richie’s triumph.
