LUKE Chessell (pictured) is returning to Stoke for the 2019 campaign.
Chessell had been earmarked for a Potters’ team place this year, but was badly hurt in a motorcycle crash in America on the eve of the season which left him with a broken tibia and fibula, as well as knee injuries. Co-promoter Dave Tattum said: “I’m delighted to have Luke on board for next year, especially after the luck he had just prior to last season which ruled him completely out. “Once he was able to get out and about, Luke was down here at the track on race-nights, always trying to help out where he could, and he is a real team player and one you would want in a team. “He had a great season the last time he rode and he believes that he can have a great year with Stoke next season. Luke has ridden for us before back in 2013 and he believes that he can regain that form for us.”
