THE six Premiership teams have named their British reserves to comply with the new Rising Star programme.
All of the top flight clubs had to make a selection from the recently released grading list and have chosen as follows: Belle Vue: Tom Brennan. Ipswich: Drew Kemp. King’s Lynn: Ryan Kinsley. Peterborough: Jordan Palin. Sheffield: Josh Bates. Wolverhampton: Tom Bacon. In a statement, British Speedway bosses confirmed their “aims to promote and develop Britain’s next generation of speedway riders” and said the new Rising Stars scheme “has been hugely welcomed by all Premiership clubs knowing the future for British progression has a structure”. British Speedway vice-chairman and Sheffield promoter Damien Bates said: “It’s a great incentive for British Speedway, not just for the now but for the future of the sport. “This provides us with a unique opportunity and platform to develop and nurture the younger talent to become future speedway champions.”
