THE sport is mourning long-time Stoke promoter Dave Tattum, who died on Sunday morning.
A statement from the British Speedway press office revealed: "We have been informed he passed away in the early hours of this morning (Sunday) following an illness which he battled with immense courage." Former rider and promoter Graham Drury led the tributes by saying: "British Speedway has lost an extremely passionate, hard working man and I am personally very saddened by this news. "Even during his illness, he just wanted to fight it privately with the strength he has always shown. "I have lost a personal friend but British Speedway has lost one of its finest promoters. His passion for the sport was second to none and particularly Stoke Speedway when they were racing." PICTURE: Dave with Potters riders Luke Priest and Mitchell Davey in 2017.
