WORLD Champion Bartosz Zmarzlik made the perfect start to his title defence with victory in the opening Grand Prix of the season in Croatia on Saturday night.
The Polish star overcame a second race exclusion to defeat Britain's Robert Lambert, Sweden's Fredrik Lindgren and Aussie Jason Doyle in the night's final. Zmarzlik said afterwards: "I am really happy. It was a hard weekend for me. We didn't have everything working the best, but thanks to my boys for doing a really good job. I made the final and by the final, I was feeling much better."
