FREDRIK Lindgren drew level with early series leader Bartosz Zmarzlik at the top pf the standings after winning the Polish GP in Warsaw on Saturday night.
The Swede took advantage of a re-run final to defeat Jack Holder and Zmarzlik in a blanket finish at the chequered flag to join the Pole on 36 points. In the first running, Holder looked to be on course for his first SGP victory when he held a comfortable lead with only a lap to go, but the race was stopped when Zmarzlik clashed with Jason Doyle in a battle for third place. The Australian was controversially excluded after going down. After his first SGP win since 2020 in front of almost 45,000 fans, Lindgren said: "The win feels great. I am very happy. It's very emotional to win a GP; I haven't done it for a long time. This is my sixth GP win tonight. I've had a fair few attempts, so it doesn't come easy. "I am just going to give everything I have. That's what I did today, and I was rewarded with a win, and I am very glad about that." "¢ Full coverage from Warsaw in this week's Speedway Star "“ on sale on Thursday.
