CLAUS Vissing has filled the vacant slot in Workington’s Championship team.
The former Comet last rode for the club in 2016 and moves to Cumbria from Glasgow, where he was part of the Tigers’ title-winning side. Promoter Andrew Bain said: “We got there in the end. We’re thrilled that Claus has signed, he’s a real talent on a bike and he never gives up. “Not only can he ride the big tracks, he can ride the trickier ones like Edinburgh and Plymouth, which is key. “We had to take our time to secure Claus as initially it seemed his schedule may not have worked out, but we got our man eventually and Claus sees the exciting things happening here at Workington. “Claus, alongside Cookie [Craig Cook] and Batch [Troy Batchelor], adds a wealth of experience to our side. With a team that has four newcomers to Championship speedway in it, his experience will be vital this season.”
