TEENAGER William Cairns, one of Britain’s brightest prospects, has signed for Belle Vue.
The 15-year-old made his National Development League debut as a guest for the combined Scunthorpe/Sheffield team at Oxford on Sunday and amassed an eye-catching 19 points. He has now signed for Belle Vue on a two-year deal and will slot into the Colts NDL side in place of Jack Shimelt, who will remain as part of the club as No. 8. Colts co-boss Steve Williams said: “William has been on our radar for some time and we knew that with his skill, and his turning 15, it would only be a matter of time before he was snapped up. “It was an opportunity we didn’t want to miss and we’re thrilled to have him on board with us at Belle Vue. He’s an amazing talent and we’re very much looking forward to seeing him in action. “Wherever he has been, he has turned heads and he’s done amazingly well in some very significant meetings all across the world so this is a big coup for us.”
