OXFORD have announced signings for both their Premiership and Championship teams.
German star Erik Riss (pictured) has signed on for another top flight season with the Spires, whilst Australian Sam Masters will be back in the No. 1 race-jacket for the Championship Cheetahs. Riss said: “I really want to step it up and be consistent all the way through in 2025. “I’m very excited to be back at Oxford next year and thank Peter (Schroeck) and Jamie (Courtney) for putting their trust in me. “I really enjoyed my time at Oxford in 2024 and we had a great team. We will also have a great team next year and I am already excited to be riding at Sandy Lane again.” Masters, who will take on the added responsibility of the Cheetahs’ captaincy following the news that Scott Nicholls will miss the start of next season, commented: “I didn’t need to think about it, I love turning up at Sandy Lane and racing for the Cheetahs on a Wednesday. “Pete (Schroeck) and Jamie (Courtney) are so easy to deal with and we have a great relationship, this is a real family club. “I hope I can be half the captain that Scott is, and I hope he is back quickly as he’s one of the best team-mates I have ever had - a massive part of the Cheetahs set-up.”
