KING’S Lynn have advanced their team building plans for 2026 after revealing the signings of Ben Cook (pictured) and Cooper Rushen.
Cook returns for another year in Norfolk after an injury-hit season this year which saw him sidelined by a fractured scaphoid. The Australian said: “I’m delighted to be back at King’s Lynn. It’s a track I genuinely enjoy riding and one that seems to suit my style, so it was something I was very keen to make happen. “We had a strong team last season and on paper everything looked positive, but sometimes speedway can be like that and for various reasons things just didn’t quite come together as we would have hoped. “My injury was a lot more complicated than initially thought, which made it a difficult period. I was pleased to be able to return later in the season and really enjoyed being back on the bike again towards the end of the year. “The team is shaping up well for the season ahead and there’s a good feeling around the club.” Meanwhile, the highly-rated Rushen will take the No. 6 berth after his 16th birthday in March. The teenager has already signed for Championship Poole and Stars team manager Rob Lyon said: “It is a big move, but having spoken at length with Cooper and his dad, it’s a move that they are comfortable with, and so are we. “Cooper is one of the brightest prospects this country has produced in the last few years. We know about a few who have already come through, but he’s another one on that production line and we’ve seen enough of him at King’s Lynn over the years to realise the potential that’s there with him. “I have no major issues in terms of him being able to cope with that position in the team. I feel he has the right temperament and personality, and to be honest it’s quite exciting to see how far he can go."
